Capital City Cleanup 2010
The litter piles up! It’s Capital City Clean up time again. 630 CHED is teaming up with Edmontonians to keep the city clean! Do your part to help make Edmonton shine. Help out your city in any way from picking up a single piece of litter and butting out cigarettes to reporting and wiping out graffiti, Every little bit helps!

New Moon on DVD
630 CHED is excited to announce that New Moon is out on DVD March 20th, 2010.
After Bella recovers from the vampire attack that almost claimed her life, she looks to celebrate her birthday with Edward and his family. However, a minor accident during the festivities results in Bella's blood being shed, a sight that proves too intense for the Cullens, who decide to leave the town of Forks, Washington for Bella and Edward's sake. Initially heartbroken, Bella finds a form of comfort in reckless living, as well as an even-closer friendship with Jacob Black. Danger in different forms awaits.

630 CHED is saying thank you to our listeners by hosting a listener appreciation night on April 15th, 2010 at Jubilations Dinner Theatre.
From April 2nd - June 6th, 2010 Jubilations Dinner Theatre will feature Law & Order Canadian Files.
In the Canadian criminal justice system, the people are represented by two separate yet equally important groups: the Police and Mounties who investigate crime; and the Crown Prosecutors, who, you guessed it, prosecute the offenders. These are their stories. Any resemblance to real events or people is highly unlikely.
Join us for our spoof on one of TV's most popular crime shows, as we bring two hard edged New York cops up to Canada to navigate their way through the Canadian Law system. Will they catch the criminal and get a conviction? Or will they get kicked out of court for laughing at the "Funny neckties" the attorneys are wearing? Combined with hits from the 80's, 90's and any other songs that fit!

630 CHED presents the Edmonton Boat and Sportsman Show at the Edmonton Expo Centre on March 18-21, 2010.
The 2010 Edmonton Boat and Sportsmen’s Show is 500,000 square feet of the latest boats, personal watercraft, accessories, and camping, fishing and outdoor gear. That’s 125,000 square feet more than last year, making this show the largest outdoor show in Western Canada!

630 CHED is excited to present the California Wine Fair at the Shaw Conference Center on April 8 from 7:00 – 9:00 pm. This event is a regular fundraiser for The Citadel which relies on donations to foster the community’s involvement in the arts. Tickets are $60.00 and are for sale at the Citadel Theatre box office (425-1820) or online at The Citadel Theatre Box Office.

Scotiabank Pro-Am For Alzheimer's
Scotiabank is excited to bring Canada’s ultimate hockey experience to Edmonton, Alberta, April 9 to 11, 2010. The Scotiabank Pro-Am , in support of the Gordie & Colleen Howe Fund for Alzheimer’s, is a one-of-a-kind event that allows everyday hockey enthusiasts to team up with former NHL greats in the battle against Alzheimer’s.
The Pro-Am kicks off with a memorable Draft Party Extravaganza on Friday evening, April 9, 2010, where each team will choose an NHL alumnus to play on their team. Draft positions will be determined by the total dollars raised by each team. Teams must raise a minimum of $25,000 to participate.
The excitement really heats up when the Pro-Am players and the Alumni take to the ice on Saturday, April 10 and Sunday, April 11, 2010.

Don Rickles
630 CHED is proud to present Don Rickles Live at The Venue at the River Cree Resort and Casino on April 28th.
“Mr. Warmth” Don Rickles is an iconic figure in the world stand-up comedy
Rickles has been performing for over 50 years and most recently won an Emmy for the HBO documentary “Mr. Warmth: The Don Rickles Project.” He has inspired numerous comics throughout the year including Chris Rock, Sarah Silverman, and Richard Lewis.
Rickles has also worked alongside a who’s who of Hollywood stars in numerous star-studded films including “Casino” with Robert De Niro and Sharon Stone, “Kelly’s Heroes” with Clint Eastwood, “Run Silent, Run Deep” with Clark Gable, and voiced Mr. Potato Head in “Toy Story.”

Basically Babies is holding their Annual Mammoth Charity Garage Sale on May 29-30, 2010 at Tailor Made Insurance in Sherwood Park, behind Superstore.
This garage sale sells ANYTHING AND EVERYTHING from furniture, electronics, household items, clothing, toys, and even hot dogs and homemade cupcakes. It’s an enormous event with all proceeds going to an amazing cause – helping to outfit newborns in need!
Basically Babies is a registered charity that works to provide for the basic outfitting needs of newborn babies born to families in extreme need in the greater Edmonton area. We offer the gift of a complete first year’s wardrobe for these infants in the form of a beautiful color-coordinated basket filled with clothing, outerwear, blankets, toys, storybooks, sleepers, undershirts, footwear and other baby essentials.

Tom Petty and The Heartbreakers
630 CHED presents Tom Petty and The Heartbreakers with special guest Joe Cocker on June 16, 2010 at Rexall Place.

Tom Petty and The Heartbreakers were inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2002, their first year of eligibility, and in recent years have continued to build on their already legendary success. The band’s sold-out 2008 tour was the biggest of their career and came right after the band’s acclaimed Super Bowl XLII halftime performance with a worldwide audience of nearly a billion people. The 2009 release of Tom Petty and The Heartbreakers’ career spanning Live Anthology garnered glowing reviews including a rave four and a half stars from Rolling Stone. 630 CHED is excited to welcome to Edmonton, the irish rock band that has boldly gone where no rock band has gone before.
Livenation presents U2 on June 23rd at The Commonwealth Stadium.
When it wraps up this week, the U2 360° Tour will have played to over 3 million fans in just 44 cities. With record shattering sales including the largest attendance at the Rose Bowl last evening as well as setting the all time record at New York’s Giant stadium where the audience surpassed that of the Pope - the largest rock and roll touring production ever has just confirmed the return to North America beginning June 6th at Anaheim’s Angel Stadium. With a cylindrical video system of interlocking LED panels, and a steel structure rising 150 feet from the floor over a massive stage with rotating bridges, the band has truly created an intimate 360º experience for concert goers. Alegria Cirque Du Soleil
630 CHED & Cirque du Soleil are pleased to announce that the critically-acclaimed touring production Alegría will perform in Edmonton at Rexall Place from August 11 - 22, 2010 for 16 performances only.
Alegría is a Cirque du Soleil classic and an internationally acclaimed production that has entertained more than 10 million people worldwide since its world premiere in Montreal in 1994. In May 2009, Alegría embarked on a new journey, performing the same mesmerizing production, but now in arenas throughout North Ametrica, giving more people the opportunity to enjoy a Cirque du Soleil show in their own town.
The Show
Alegría is a Spanish word for happiness, joy and jubilation and features an international cast of 55 performers and musicians from 17 countries and showcases breathtaking acrobatics. Acts include the Synchro Trapeze and the intense and high-energy Aerial High Bars in which daring aerialists fly to catchers swinging more than 40 feet above the stage. The vibrancy of youth is alive in Power Track, a brilliant display of synchronized choreography and tumbling on a trampoline system hidden under the stage floor. In Russian Bars, artists fly through the air and perform spectacular somersaults and mid-air turns, landing on bars perched on the sturdy shoulders of catchers.

Be part of Team Diabetes!
Team Diabetes is proud to be taking part in the Edmonton Marathon for the first time ever!
The Edmonton Marathon is designed to showcase the city’s scenic river valley and surrounding neighborhoods. The route is greatly supported and participants will feel the excitement and enthusiasm of the volunteers and spectators throughout the course. The marathon begins and ends at City Hall located in the heart of downtown Edmonton and the course traces a route that features the many faces of this friendly city including Hawrelak Park, MacKinnon Ravine, downtown Edmonton and some great views of the river valley both sides of the river. For the half marathon, participants will head through downtown into the river valley and split from the marathon course at MacKinnon Ravine, dart along side the North Saskatchewan River, up into west-end neighborhoods before turning back to the Edmonton City Hall.
