The Edmonton Oilers will try to snap a three-game winless slide Tuesday night when they host the Dallas Stars.
The Stars are twelfth in the NHL in goals for per game but are second worst in goals against.
“We want to check first,” said Oilers winger Matt Hendricks. “They have some highly offensive players, but we feel if we can dictate the game and control the puck more than them, we’ll have a very good opportunity.”
The Oilers have scored just four times in their last three games but will be making only minor tweak to the forward lines with Anton Slepyshev replacing Iiro Pakarinen on the fourth line. Their expected lineup is:
Maroon – McDavid – Draisaitl
Lucic – Nugent-Hopkins – Eberle
Pouliot – Desharnais – Kassian
Hendricks – Letestu – Slepyshev
Sekera – Russell
Klefbom – Larsson
Nurse – Benning
Oddly, Tuesday games have been a problem for the Oilers. Their record is just 3-9-2 on Tuesday.
The Oilers and Stars are on 630 CHED with the Face-off Show at 5:30pm. The puck drops at 7pm. (jrw)
