A 24-year-old Edmonton man is facing charges after leading the RCMP on a pursuit.
Mounties say it happened Wednesday, Nov. 9, in Jasper after the man and his friend were kicked out of the Sawridge Hotel bar for being too intoxicated and causing problems with other patrons.
The duo were then seen driving away in vehicle which police tried to pull over for a traffic stop but they sped away. They reached a dead end road and tried to flee on foot but Mounties were quick to arrest the pair.
The 24-year-old who was driving has been charged with impaired & dangerous operation of a motor vehicle, operation of a motor vehicle while being pursued by police, obstruction to a peace officer and possession of cannabis resin.
His passenger, a 25-year-old man from the Edmonton area has been charged with obstruction to a peace officer.
Both men are expected to be in front of a judge on January 12, in Jasper Provincial Court. (dac)
