A home owner near Vermilion is recovering after being shot during a failed home invasion early Tuesday morning.
Mounties say the suspects tried to gain entry to the residence around 4:30 a.m. but failed, and a 64-year-old man was shot in the confrontation at a property in the County of Vermilion River.
He was transported to hospital with a serious but non-life-threatening injury.
Police searched the area for the suspects after they fled in a vehicle, but they were not located.
RCMP believe this was not a random act and there is no danger to the public.
