I read this story and I remembered how I always got together with someone for lunch on Friday. That was a time when it might go a little longer. Now this seldom happens. See what you think:
NOBODY GOES TO LUNCH ANYMORE
According to a new study, the number of people going to restaurants at lunchtime has been declining in a big way.
Because more and more people are working from home, there are fewer people leaving the office for a noontime meal. Why go to a restaurant when you can just go to your refrigerator?
And for people who actually go to an office to work, it seems that going out for lunch has gotten too expensive. Industry insiders say prices for quick-service restaurant meals used to be between $5 and $7. But now, lots of restaurants have moved into the $7 to $9 range – with many even charging between $9 and $12. People just can’t afford that. (Vice)
Do you have a long-standing lunch habit? Same restaurant, same food, same people, same time everyday? Or … Is lunch always an adventure? Or is work so demanding that you just can’t take the time now?
