We will learn less than a year from now whether there’s enough evidence in the Crown’s case against Edward Downey.
Downey is the man charged with the murders of a Calgary mother and her five-year-old daughter. Baillie was found dead in her Calgary basement suite this summer. An Amber Alert was issued for daughter Taliyah Marsman. Her body was recovered outside the city days later.
The preliminary hearing in the case is set for August 14-25, 2017.
Downey’s lawyer entered a plea of not guilty in the Calgary courtroom on Thursday. (kb)
