RCMP say an Edmontonian is dead after a skydiving accident, just east of Westlock.
According to police, the incident occurred at a skydiving competition at the Edmonton Skydiving Centre at Westlock Airport. A skydiver performing a high performance technique failed to land properly. Emergency personnel at the event immediately intervened, but the 52-year-old was pronounced dead at the scene.
Mounties say the incident is being investigated and next of kin have been notified, however the deceased’s identity has not been released. (scb)
