Two brothers from Edmonton face a range of criminal charges after the Alberta Law Enforcement Response Teams (ALERT) grabbed a gun and some drugs after a short-term investigation.
Sadi Jalali, 21, and Saidkheyam Jalali, 23, were arrested by ALERT Edmonton’s organized crime team on Aug. 3. ALERT received information that the brothers were allegedly trafficking drugs and possibly in possession of firearms.

Sadi is a former player for the FC Edmonton soccer team, but was released during this year’s spring season. The team says he was cut for soccer reasons.

At the time of his arrest, police claim Saidkheyam was wearing a small brown satchel that contained a loaded Beretta 9 mm handgun with its serial number removed, and $3,950 cash proceeds of crime. His Mercedes SUV was also seized.
