Those with heart and lung conditions are being told to be extra cautious west of Edmonton due to smoky conditions.
Alberta Health Services has issued a precautionary air quality advisory for Parkland County as wildfires burn in the area. AHS says that even if you’re healthy it could irritate your eyes, throat, and lungs.
They’re advising you to keep the windows and doors closed, turn the therm shut fresh air intakes to your home, avoid running whole-house fans or ventilation systems, and not using wood burning fireplaces.
If you have to drive, you can put the fan on re-circulate to avoid bringing in the smoke.
They also say to reduce physical activity and avoid smoking. (kdr)
