Sparks were flying on the QE 2 Sunday.
The reason for the sparks was due to a 52-year-old Calgary man driving his vehicle with one bare rim on the road.
RCMP was forced to follow from a safe distant to ensure public safety on the busy highway.
As spike belts were prepared the driver lost control, slamming into two vehicles and finally stopping in the ditch.
The man was taken into custody and will be charged with Dangerous Driving and Flight from Police.
He is undergoing a mental health assessment after telling officers that, "he was on his way to heaven." (dm/tk)
