Outback Steakhouse will continue to "fire up the grill" in Edmonton.
This, despite the company closing nine restaurants in Ontario.
A Western Canada representative for the company says its three locations here -- on 90th Avenue across from West Edmonton Mall, 137th Avenue in northwest Edmonton, and along Calgary Trail on the city's south side -- are operated as a separate franchise to the affected one's back east.
He says the company is looking to expand its operations in Alberta, rather than close restaurants down.
The Ontario closures are reported in the business section of the Toronto Star.
