Their queen, Prospera, directs her daughter’s coming-of-age ceremony in a rite that honours femininity, renewal, rebirth and balance which marks the passing of these insights and values from one generation to the next.

In the wake of a storm caused by Prospera, a group of young men lands on the island, triggering an epic, emotional story of love between Prospera’s daughter and a brave young suitor. But theirs is a love that will be put to the test. The couple must face numerous demanding trials and overcome daunting setbacks before they can achieve mutual trust, faith and harmony.

Back in high school, Johnny spent more time with his guitar then he did studying or socializing with other students. He was considered to be a "music nerd" and was teased by most of the other kids. In 1956, Johnny went on a school band trip to Ottawa, where he met another music student by the name of... Paul Anka. The two boys became friends and when Anka's career took off, he took Johnny with him!

During this bold cycling journey, you will ride for two whole days along the majestic Rockies! Our mission is clear - a cancer-free future. The money you raise for the Alberta Cancer Foundation through The Ride will directly support patients and families at the Tom Baker Cancer Centre in Calgary, the Cross Cancer Institute in Edmonton and 15 cancer centres throughout Alberta. In 1994, TV viewers were introduced to 6 young friends living in Manhattan; Monica, Rachel, Phoebe, Joey, Chandler and Ross. The rest, as they say, is history! "Friends" is one of the most popular sitcoms of all time. The series consistently ranked in the top ten in the primetime ratings and won many, many awards. The series finale (the 236th episode), airing on May 6, 2004, was watched by 51.1 million American viewers.

It was also in 2004, that we presented our spoof of this great sit- com with our very popular, attendance record breaking show - "Best of Friends!" Harvest of the Past & Harvest Food Festival

Taking visitors back to Alberta’s agricultural roots, this final event of the Village's summer season recreates an old-fashioned threshing bee complete with vintage farm equipment and grain deliveries to the historic elevator.

The day begins with a pancake breakfast, hosted by the Friends of the Ukrainian Village Society. Other historical activities include flower and herb drying, feather stripping, making kapusta (sour cabbage), grinding wheat, quilting, and canning of produce from the museum’s heritage gardens. The Harvest Food Festival offers a unique culinary experience for visitors to experience favorite foods from the region.

630 CHED is excited to welcome Jethro Tull's Ian Anderson to the Winspear Centre on October 24, 2013.

Ian Anderson will be performing both his composition THICK AS A BRICK in its entirety for the first time since 1972, and his new album, THICK AS A BRICK 2 for a world tour, which began April, 2012, in the UK.

This tour will feature a more theatrical production with video and additional musicians, including Ian's band: bassist David Goodier, keyboardist John O'Hara, drummer Scott Hammond, and wunderkind guitarist Florian Opahle-- all of whom have performed with Ian on his solo dates over the years as well as having performed at various times as members of Jethro Tull.
