Bullying Stops Here – Pink Shirt Day 2011 630 CHED is proud to support Bullying Stops Here- Pink Shirt Day 2011!

We are now moving into our 4th year and the growth of awareness has been amazing. For 2011 we have added a commitment from all who purchase and wear our Pink Shirt Day 2011 Shirts. We ask all students, teachers, parents and supporters to stand up and say “I COMMIT TO A BULLY-FREE LIFE”. This commitment will be confirmed by signing their shirts in support of this important statement. Bullying can be stopped, but we must do it together.

Once again London Drug Stores across Western Canada will be selling Pink T-Shirts for $9.80. Last year we sold over 35,000 Pink T-Shirts through local London Drug Stores and online through schools across Canada and Worldwide! That was double 2009, and we don’t intend to stop now.

All proceeds go to benefit the Boys and Girls Clubs for their after school anti-bullying programs.

Many people, schools and businesses across Canada have come together in some way to stand up and say “Bullying Stops Here”, where did it all come from, you may have heard of the story:

Why Pink? It originates from an incident that happened in September several years back, when two Nova Scotia high school students organized a school protest in sympathy with a new Grade 9 boy. The boy had been bullied for wearing a pink shirt to school, thus the two students handed out pink shirts to all boys in the school, making a non-violent statement that bullying will not be tolerated.
