The Edmonton Oilers lost 3-1 Thursday night making it their second in a row and their third game in the 5 game homestand.

This time the loss comes from the Minnesota Wild who have now won 11 of their past 13 meetings with Oilers.

Ryan Smyth opened scoring to cap his second of the year on his 37th birthday.

But it wasn't enough as the Wild came back with three unanswered goals.

Matt Cullen scored twice and Devin Setoguchi added another to lift the Wild to a victory.

Some tension might be afoot the next time these two teams meet, with Cal Clutterbuck getting hit on the play by Taylor Hall.

Hall picked up a game misconduct and a kneeing penalty and was ejected from the game.

The Oilers play the Phoenix Coyotes Saturday on their final home game of February. They embark on a 9 game road trip to make room for the Tim Horton's Brier.

The Oilers are now 6-7-3 on the season tied for 12th place in Western conference and 22nd overall. (bg)
