Broken foot for Lander
11:40pm

2/8/2013

The Oilers will be without centre Anton Lander for at least the next four weeks.  He suffered a broken foot after blocking a shot Wednesday against Dallas.

The Oilers have called up centre Chris VandeVelde from the Oklahoma City Barons.  In 38 games this season, VanDeVelde has two goals and eight assists.  Last season, he played five games for the Oilers and had one goal.

The Oilers are beat up at the centre position, but Ryan Nugent-Hopkins is expected to play Saturday in Detroit.  He missed the Dallas game with a sore shoulder.  Eric Belanger, who has broken toes, may return Sunday in Columbus.  (jrw)
