One thing's for sure: Nail Yakupov isn't shy.
Yakupov reported for his physical Tuesday morning at Rexall Place as the Edmonton Oilers started their development camp. He and his fellow prospects will hit the ice Wednesday in Sherwood Park. When told that fans will turn out to watch him, Yakupov said he's ready to put on a show.
"I think it's great for us. You want to show off beauty fakes sometimes. Just look in the camera, and see your picture on the Google and on the Twitter and on Facebook," he said. "It's great. Why not?"
Yakupov (@Nail10_1993) has been on Twitter for less than two weeks and has almost 20,000 followers. Monday night, he replied to dozens of tweets from fans. "I tweet, sorry, guys, I can't answer for everyone," he said. "But why not? Fans want to know about you, about your life, about hockey. Some people have crazy questions that I can't answer. I was just having fun."
The Oilers took Yakupov first overall in the NHL draft on Friday in Pittsburgh. (jrw)
