It's a sad ending to the search for an American pilot, whose plane crashed while headed to Peace River.
The military confirms the wreckage has been found southeast of Norman Wells, NWT, about 800 kilometres northwest of Yellowknife. It was found mid-morning Thursday.
The pilot was found dead. The Edmonton Journal is reporting the victim is Colorado resident Terry Johnson. Johnson, 75, was headed from Norman Wells to Peace River, when his plane disappeared from radar last Saturday.(The Edmonton Journal/bp)
