Oil can't solve Harding
9:18pm
The Minnesota Wild scored a couple of quick third period goals in a 4-2 win over the visiting Edmonton Oilers on Tuesday night at the Xcel Energy Center in St. Paul, Minnesota. After giving up an early power play goal in the third, the Wild scored on two of their first three shots to hand the Oilers, who outshot them 20-4 in the final frame, a fifth straight loss and sixth in a row on the road. Martin Havlat and Andrew Ebbett had a goal and an assist each as Minnesota keeps its slim playoff hopes alive with the win, while Oilers forward Sam Gagner picked up two assists for his seventh multi-point game of the season. The Oilers have now lost thirteen straight games in Minnesota. "[It's] obviously frustrating to come into this building again and lose, but hopefully next year it's a different story," said Gagner after the loss. "It's definitely frustrating, but there are some positive things that we've got to build off of. It's a process in here, it's not going to happen overnight, we know that." Oilers head coach Pat Quinn was happy with the effort of his team, but disappointed with what's become an ...

Morley Scott, the new "Voice of the Eskimos"
9:20am
Ever since the legendary Bryan Hall announced that the 2009 CFL season would be his last behind the microphone as play-by-play man for the Edmonton Eskimos, there has been anticipation about who his replacement would be. Tuesday morning, the mystery was solved. The job goes to former Edmonton Oilers' colour commentator, Morley Scott. Scott has spent the last year as play-by-play voice of the Vancouver Giants of the Western Hockey League. But, even after a stint on the west coast, he says there's no question where is heart has been. "Edmonton is my home. Edmonton is where my family is, and Edmonton's where I want to be," Scott told a Tuesday morning news conference, heard live on 630 CHED. "I'm really excited about coming back, and very much looking forward to coming back and getting ready for training camp which starts in June." Scott will be joined in the broadcast booth by Dave Campbell, who remains as Eskimos' colour commentator on 630 CHED. Hall has decided to step down after more than 30 years calling games for the Eskimos. The long-time broadcaster will continue to heard on the air on 630 CHED and iNews880.(ks/bp)

The Edmonton Oilers and the Columbus Blue Jackets combined for five goals in the third period of a 5-3 Columbus win at Nationwide Arena on Monday night, a fourth straight loss for the visiting Oilers. Huselius finished the night with four points and his 19th goal of the season stood up as the game-winner. Since being put on a line with Andrew Cogliano and Gilbert Brule, Penner now has two goals and five points in his last three games. "I like the look of it, I think it's energized [Penner], I think he's got some inspiration to help these young guys do some good things," said Oilers Associate Coach Tom Renney. "The bottom line is, as long as they don't leave too much out there, they're a good attacking line that can make things happen for us." Oilers goalie Devan Dubnyk is still ...
