The Edmonton Oil Kings scored five unanswered goals to beat the Brandon Wheat Kings 5-1 Tuesday in the Western Hockey League playoffs.
Travis Ewanyk, T.J. Foster, Mitchell Moroz, Stephane Legault and Curtis Lazar scored for the Oil Kings, who took a 3-0 lead in the Eastern Conference semifinal and will try to clinch the series Wednesday in Brandon.
Ryan Pulock gave the Wheat Kings a 1-0 lead in the first period, but Edmonton outshot Brandon 19-2 in the second and took a 2-1 lead before pulling away in the third.
Goaltender Laurent Brossoit stopped 25 shots for Edmonton, while Corbin Boes made 38 saves for Brandon. (cp/rp)
