Kristians Pelss scored twice, earning the game's first star, as the Edmonton Oil Kings edged the visiting Brandon Wheat Kings 4-3 on Saturday in Western Hockey League playoff action. Jordan Peddle and Travis Ewanyk also scored for the Oil Kings, who have won six straight playoff games, while Tyler Maxwell picked up his team-leading fifth assist of the post season. Michael Ferland had a goal and an assist for the Wheat Kings, Ryan Pulock and Alessio Bertaggia each scored once, and Brenden Walker chipped in with two assists. Laurent Brossoit stopped 26 shots for the win while Corbin Boes turned away 31 shots in defeat. Neither club could score on the power play as they both went 0 for 3. Edmonton now leads the second-round series 2-0 with Game 3 scheduled for Tuesday in Brandon at the Keystone Centre. (The Canadian Press/gb)
