A Canadian international award winner and life-long learner stopped by NAIT today to inspire young women to follow in her footsteps.

Dr. Roberta Bodnar can't do it all - but she can do a heck of a lot. So far her careers have ranged from scientist to astronaut to photographer to entrepreneur. She says education is her greatest passion and adds she hopes young women get her message that there is a whole world beyond social networking.

"I think very young people - like those in elementary school - perhaps are getting the wrong message in society that you can get an answer without having to work through a problem. Unfortunately," she says, "the answers aren't always there and they are not little sound bites on the internet. and we have to actually face a problem and have the skill set to be able to problem solve and come up with the right answers."

Bodnar says it's important for women to be able to develop technical skills and also the ability to problem solve.
