St. Matthews Avenue will be completely closed to westbound and eastbound traffic at the railway crossing between Empress Street and Strathcona Street starting Monday, August 13 at 6:00 a.m. due to a railway crossing reconstruction.
Local traffic will have access up to the railway crossing during the reconstruction. St. Matthews Avenue will reopen on Thursday, August 16 at 6:00 a.m.
Motorists are reminded to use alternative routes such as Portage Avenue or Ellice Avenue.
Pedestrian access will also be restricted as sidewalks at the rail crossing will be closed.
