A severe thunderstorm system moved rapidly across Southern Manitoba Wednesday evening..
Mike Russo of Environment Canada told CJOB a line of thunderstorms had developed Northwest of Lake Manitoba in the afternoon and there were also thunderstorms in the Interlake and part of Southwest Manitoba and then everything came together.
Russo says there were reports of very high wind gusts in the Grand Beach and Grand Marais area of up to 143 km/h while the airport in Winnipeg reported a wind gust of 76 km/hr..
Russo says Winnipeg did not get too much rain out of the system.
The forecast for Thursday calls for a sunny sky and the high 25.
