A U of M Professor Emeritus in Political Studies at the University of Manitoba says being the leader of the opposition for the next three years won't exactly be a lot of fun:
None-the-less Paul Thomas is somewhat surprised no one other than Brian Pallister has entered the race to become the Manitoba Progressive Conservative Party's next leader. Pallister will be acclaimed if one else steps forward by tomorrow afternoon at 5 o'clock. Thomas says Manitoba has a long list of strong Tory leaders from Duff Roblin, to Sterling Lyon and Gary Filmon. With that in mind he thought there would be more than one person willing to help put the party back on the map.
