A top medical oncology researcher at CancerCare Manitoba is being credited with a breakthrough discovery in breast cancer gene mutations. Dr. Shantanu Banerji and his team found several new mutations in breast cancer samples. Banerji says they now have a new target in select patients. That will eventually allow physicians to select targeted, lexx toxic treatments based on a patient's genetic profile.
