Damage was estimated at 1.5 million dollars following a fire around the noon-hour Wednesday at the Fairmont apartments - 52 Edmonton street.
The fire resulted in the closure of several streets in the area for several hours.. The last of the fire units did not leave until 8 Wednesday night..
About 30 residents were evacuated and there were no reports of any injuries. The fire started in a third floor apartment and spread to the roof..
The cause is under investigation..
