CJOB's Kim Lawson reporting
The President and CEO of Tundra Oil and Gas says taking Innovation, Energy and Mines Minister Dave Chomiak to a Jets game was about building relationships.
Speaking at a news conference on Mining Week with Chomiak, Dan MacLean says he understands people's sensitivity to ministers receiving tickets from private companies. But he says its about getting face time with the minister, not about offering perks in exchange for favour. Chomiak did not apologize for taking the ticket or comment on whether it was a bad decision - he just said he will follow the new policy of not taking professional sports tickets going forward. MacLean says he looks forward to taking Chomiak to the ballet, instead.
