CJOB's Keith McCullough reporting
5/24/2012
The Manitoba Teachers' Society wants the Provincial government to allow the union to fine, suspend or even terminate teachers if they're convicted of unprofessional conduct. Vice-President Norm Gould tells CJOB, the decision was reached at the Society's annual general meeting.
Two Winnipeg teachers drew international criticism in 2010 for performing a simulated lap dance that was caught on video but Gould says it's something the society has been pushing for since 2004. He hopes it will be discussed in the legislature's fall session.
