A Winnipeg man who hit and seriously injured two brothers when driving drunk has been sentenced to spend a year in jail.
32 year old Hubert Butt plead guilty to the March 2011 incident that court heard saw him swerve all over the road before turning the wrong way down Bannatyne Avenue and hitting the pair who were crossing...sending them 50 feet in the air
The brothers aged 24 and 25 had just moved to Winnipeg from Nepal. One suffered a torn aorta after being hit.
Court heard Butt's blood alcohol level was nearly 3 times the legal limit. He had no prior criminal record.
