Wildfires consumed hundreds of hectares southeast of Winnipeg over the weekend...and the water bombers are warming up for another day of fire fighting.
The R.M. of Piney has declared a local state of emergency, and 12-20 people in Badger were forced to evacuate around 2 o'clock this morning after the wind turned a fire towards the community.
A sprinkler kit has been set up in the town to keep all the buildings wet in case the fire gets closer.
Crews continue to work to contain the fires. The province is pleading with everyone to be wary of fire bans in their areas as things can get out of control quickly.
