Under Manitoba's Community Places program More than 270 non-profit community groups will get to create or upgrade local recreational, wellness or cultural facilities for Manitoba families this year.
The government is providing more than $3.5 million under the Community Places program to support local groups in developing and maintaining the facilities.
Among the projects -- museums, playgrounds, multi-use and recreation facilities, child-care centres, libraries, community halls and seniors' facilities. Housing and Community Development Minister Kerri Irvin-Ross says the projects involve critical repairs, roof replacements, fresh-air ventilation, fire-safety upgrades, energy-efficiency improvements and disability access upgrades..
