Over 65-hundred school patrols have been busy this year ensuring our children arrive safely at school everyday. Friday, the top four patrol teams were acknowledged as part of the 38th Annual School Safety Patrol Awards at the Convention Centre. The top team winning the CAA trophy was Ecole Lacerte of the Division Scolaire Franco-Manitobaine.

2nd Place Montrose School - Winnipeg School Division – South District
Winnipeg Free Press Trophy
3rd Place Victoria Albert School – Winnipeg School Division – Inner District
Joint Veterans Association Trophy
4th Place Riverbend Community School – Seven Oaks School Division
Winnipeg Police Service Trophy
The Most Improved School Patrol Team is:
Gladstone School – Winnipeg School Division – South District
CAA Manitoba Trophy
Louise Staples, a teacher at Greenway School, was instrumental in starting up the program in Winnipeg. Every year the most efficient Patrol Captain receives an award in Louise Staples’ name.
The Winnipeg Police Service is pleased to announce that the recipient of the 2012 Louise Staples Award is Shaylee Quill of Salisbury Morse Place School – River East Transcona School Division.
