While Monday's showers might have put a damper on any field work, many farmers made considerable progress last week. In it's weekly crop report, Manitoba Agiculture says seeding is now about 55-percent complete in the Northwest. Rainfall last week benefited growth in pasture and hay lands in the Southwest. Early seeded cereals and canola are emerging in the Central Region. The majority of flax and sunflower acres in the East are now seeded. Fertilizer applications continue on winter wheat and hayland in the Interlake.
