The daughter of Crystal Taman has told court, it looked like a former police chief on trial for obstruction of justice was briefly talking with the off duty officer who hit and killed Taman in 2005 just minutes after the crash. Harry Bakema is alleged to have failed to give Derek Harvey Zenk a sobriety test at the scene. Paramedics told court Monday Harvey Zenk smelled of liquor. He was later charged with impaired driving but plead guilty to lesser charges. Bakema is also charged with perjury for testimony at a 2008 inquiry. Another officer will testify this afternoon.
