CJOB News Team reporting
Friday and Saturday, those who lost their lives while on the job will be remembered.
It's the annual "International Day of Mourning" and over the noon hour in downtown Winnipeg Friday, hundreds marched from Union Centre on Broadway to the site of the Canadian Museum for Human Rights.
Manitoba Federation of Labour president Kevin Rebeck tells CJOB everyone is encouraged to attend a candlelight ceremony being held Saturday.
Rebeck says in 2010 over a thousand Canadians were killed while on the job with many others dying as a result of occupational disease and it's time the government starts taking action against negligent employers.
