Manitoba's Health Minister Theresa Oswald has tabled a bill to better protect hospital and personal care home patients from abuse or neglect.
With the new legislation, Oswald says health care professionals found guilty of abuse or neglect will be placed on the adult abuse registry.
Oswald says it will also be of benefit to health care providers when they are hiring.
Also at the Legislature today, Progressive Conservative MLA Leanne Rowat tabled a private member's bill that would ensure proper hearing screening for all newborns, not just those that are deemed "high risk".
