Protecting consumers from hidden auto repair costs
CJOB's Kim Lawson reporting
4/26/2012

The province has introduced a bill to make sure you don't get ripped off by your mechanic.  The legislation would guard against getting an invoice much higher than the estimate provided and getting repairs that aren't necessary by requiring customer consent on every repair done.

Consumer Protection Director Jan Forster says knowing what kind of service consumer's can expect will empower them.

The bill also requires a warranty on all parts and labour.
