Damage was estimated at one million dollars after fire destroyed one home and heavily damaged another on McMillan Avenue early Tuesday morning.
47 year old Geoffrey Owen, who owns the house, told Global News he was awakened by sounds of popping and crackling. He was able to make it to a second floor window.
Four other people also got out of the house safely. The cause of the fire is under investigation.
