Two hikers have been rescued from Burke Mountain in Coquitlam.

Dwight Yochim with Coquitlam Search and Rescue says his team got a call from RCMP about the hikers around 11:00 Saturday night.

A police helicopter was able to pinpoint the hikers' location on the west side of the mountain.

Yochim says the men managed to keep warm by lighting a fire.

They didn't have any gear with them.

They were hiking the Woodland Walk Trail, which Yochim says they were probably not experienced enough to be hiking.

He says the men were trying to get to Coquitlam Lake, and adds the Woodland Walk Trail doesn't lead there, and says the lake is closed to the public.

Neither of the hikers were injured.
