Overnight assault in Coquitlam

One man is in critical condition and police are searching for a suspect after a fight in Coquitlam last night.

RCMP Sgt. Tony Farahbakhchian says it happened at the corner of Austin and Nelson streets around 10:30 p.m.

"This individual sustained injuries, critical injuries to his head. He's been taken to RCH (Royal Columbian Hospital), and he's still in critical condition."

Police have yet to release a description of the suspect.
