He’s still considered a high risk to re-offend, but the young man convicted of fatally stabbing a 20-year old outside a Port Coquitlam house party in 2006 is set to be freed from prison in December.

Ryan Crossley's mandated release is December 18th.

The victim Jesse Penner's father Gord is worried Crossley will kill again, because the 22-year-old has already committed more crimes behind bars.

"Maybe he should be in some type of an institution where they can heavily assess him. Um, if they can't fix him? Why are they putting him on the street worse than when he went in and you can talk to any criminologist. these young guys are going in and they're coming out way worse because we're not catching them at the other end when they're younger."
