The Province has received six proposals, in its bid to privatized the Liquor Distribution Branch's warehousing and distribution services.
They come from Container World Forwarding Services, Exel Canada, Hillebrand Westling, Kuehne and Nagel, Metro Supply Chain Group, and Schenker of Canada.
Those proposals will now be evaluated, with a short-list of the three most qualified companies announced on July 20th.
The succesful bidder will be announced in October, with a services agreement to be negotiated by next March.
The winner of the bid will win a lucrative contract to receive, store, order, and distribute liquor.
Critics claim the venture is a money loser for the province -- which currently reaps the benefits of controlling warehousing and distribution for L-D-B.
