Early signs indicate a fatal shooting in Port Moody is gang-related.

Just off a bustling St. John's Street a man was shot to death on Queen's Street at 4:45 p.m. Monday.

Despite the busy area where the shooting occurred, police spokesman Lindsey Houghton says the case will be tough to solve due to suspected gang connections, "Extremely difficult. It could take months, years, if we ever do solve it. It could take a combination of luck, good police work and the right witness to come forward, to put that final piece of the puzzle together for us and for the citizens of Port Moody."

Police have yet to provide a suspect description or identify a getaway vehicle.
