A fire in Mission forced two families out of their homes last night.
Fire chief Ian Fitzpatrick says a girl in a home in the 7900 block of Burdock Street heard crackling and saw a glow outside her window.
Crews were called shortly after 11:30.
Fitzpatrick says there was heavy fire in the carport area, the roof was on fire, and two vehicles on that property caught fire as well.
The roof of an adjacent house was also on fire.

"And we were able to quickly knock down the fire in the attic of the adjacent house, so the damage to that house has been confined just to the attic area, the other house where the fire started has extensive damage to the carport, extensive damage into the attic and roof area of the house and then water and smoke damage throughout the rest of the house."

No one was injured.
It is not yet known what caused the blaze.
