After three days of being out of service, the Queen of New Westminster will be back on the water Monday morning, back on its regular schedule starting at 8 a.m., in time from the long weekend commute.

The boat had been sidelined Friday first because of problems with its rudder, and then with its water-cooling system in the generator.

BC Ferries spokeswoman Deb Marshall says crews have been working hard all weekend and have made the repairs.

"They have found an alternate source of cooling for the sea bays. And that means we'll be back in business."

She says officials don’t expect any more complications on the Tsawwassen-to-Swartz Bay route, but crews will be standing by just in case.
