A head-on collision along the sea-to-sky highway has sent several people to hospital with serious injuries.

RCMP Sgt. Peter Thiessen says it happened near Daisy Lake Dam.

"It’s in the early stages. Our traffic investigators are on the scene along with medical services and the fire department. Certainly this isn't a good start to the long weekend."

The northbound lane has re-opened to traffic.
