5/13/2012

A 36-year old man is dead after being stabbed in Maple Ridge overnight.

IHIT Corporal Adam Macintosh says the victim was wounded in a fight near 223 Street and Mcintosh Avenue.

He made it to Ridge Meadows Hospital and that's when police were called.

"Our goal right now is to determine what happened.  We know that an altercation occured, and at this time we're trying to determine who this man had an altercation with."

It's believed the fight happened sometime between 2 and 2:30 a.m.

The investigation has expanded to include an apartment building near the scene.

Police are familiar with the victim, but they don't suspect any gang connections.
