The RCMP are reaching out to the author of an email that contains information about the recent attacks on people connected to the Justice Institute of BC.
So far, about 14 people with ties in the institute have been targeted by arsons and shootings – the last one being former West Vancouver police chief Scott Armstrong, whose house was lit on fire back in January.
Sgt. Peter Thiessen says Mounties are looking to get in touch with an unidentified person who wrote to them via email.
"It’s clear from the email that the person who sent it has more information to provide. And we're encouraging and hopeful that that individual, the author of the email, and that person knows who he or she is – we're asking that person to call."
The RCMP have linked the incidents to an former ICBC claims adjuster, who had accessed clients' personal information.
That employee and an associate are being investigated for allegations of mischief to data, endangering life and criminal breach of trust.
