Mayor Rob Ford says he doesn't believe the proposed plastic bag ban wont follow through.
Ford says councillors will change their mind in the October vote, saying residents have made clear they want plastic bags to stay.
The mayor adds he's upset retailers like Loblaws and Shoppers Drug Mart are still collecting the five cent bag fee, even though that charge was supposed to end over the holiday weekend.
Ford's comments come as Mississauga city council is debating the ban of plastic bags in their city.
