The Canadian loonie celebrates its 25th birthday today.
The loonie went into circulation on June 30th 1987, which marked the end of the $2 bill.
To mark today's occasion, a commeorative $1 silver coin will be produced featuring two loons swimming past each other.
A total of 15,000 of the coins will be issued and will go on sale starting July 16th.
